The goal of the Social Justice Expo is to gather together youth from NYC who are engaged with service work, social justice work, activism, and organizing. One of the spaces that this work is seen and deepened is the social media landscape. As a result we want to incentivize students and teachers to share their work on social media.
We are announcing our 2nd annual social media contest. Encourage your students to post selfies with their projects and other parts of their work in our new Facebook group, captioned with a hashtag of their choosing (approved by us first to avoid duplicates). Next to the hashtag, students are required to also place the hashtag #sjexpo to make it count. At the end, the hashtags will be counted and the following prizes awarded:
5 individual youth winner will receive a hoodie designed by Project Attica 1 classroom will receive an 10 texts that we call the "activist library"
NEXT STEPS: Choose your group's personal hashtag and send to firstname.lastname@example.org for approval to avoid duplicates. Check out our website for more details! http://www.sjexponyc.org/
